Young Tiger NTR after his previous debacle SHAKTI, portrayed a complete different character in Oosaravelli which was released all over the world in 1800 theatres today. Lets get into the complete review…..

Story:
NTR (Tony) is apt for Title role Oosaravelli, as he keep on changes colors and mood as per the situation around. He is street rowdy who cares nothing about society, will do anything for money in Mumbai.

Tony meets Niharika (Tamanna) and falls in love with her. Tony will do his best day and night to feel her love and finally after not much delay Niharika agrees. The much expected twist comes when Tony join a gang (Jayaprakash Reddy) and starts killing everyone without reason. Some point of time Tony meets Mafia Don Prakash Raj(Azzu Bhai). Seeing all these Tamanna avoids Tony and both had conflicts.

But Tony starts killing everyone in all the gangs around him with a reason, Whats that reason? why he starts killing everyone related to mafia? for all this questions you have to watch Oosaravelli.

Technicalities:
Koratala Siva dialogues worked in places. On a whole lacked the necessary punch. Devi Sri Prasad’s background score is fabulous. Two songs are very good. Rasool camera is one of the highlights of the movie. Action part is dealt well. There are few action scenes but are shot in an exciting fashion. Production values are rich.

Surender Reddy did well as a director to handle the script well. However, he is off balance at times as he is ‘confused’ to stick with the content or to go with NTR’s mass image. He should have opted for a small hero instead of choosing a star for this script, which would have done wonders for him.

Plus Points:
  • First half
  • NTR Peformance
  • Etching of NTR’s character
  • Twists in the storyline
  • Couple of Twists in the storyline

Minus Points:
  • Second half
  • Dragged sequences
  • Stereotype climax
  • Lack of conviction in key scenes
  • NTR Mass image created problems
  • No comedy in second half
Performances:
NTR: Probably this is the first time ntr looked like a complete lover boy, not like an action hero. He proved once again with his emotions and comedy lines which will sure make his presence on screen. But one will feel that they miss the excitement from NTR. He is bit fat in some scenes, and has to recheck his weight once again. He is best at dances and in Dandia song its proved once again.

Tamanna proved that she is not for only glamour, she did her best in few scenes where Niharika character will act as lead. Mass audience masala is not given by Tamanna in this movie. She got a good role in top star where normally heroines wont get. She looks really beautiful in couple of songs.

Payal Ghosh (harika) performance is good, Prakash Raj, Jayaprakash Reddy are asusual. Raghu babu is funny at some scenes. MS Narayana will make you laugh in few scenes. Both Shamm and Sayaji shinde will come and go. Murali Sharma was wasted. Rahman is ok.

Oosaravelli Analysis:
Its not for NTR died hard fans, as Tony character plays in and around Tamanna (Niharika). Coming to the first half of the movie – the introduction scenes are really taken high note and creates much expectations on Tony’s role. Surrender reddy proved he is best in picturisation. First half of the movie goes really well with comedy scenes between – Tony, Sarkar, MS, Raghu babu.

Interval before scenes creates ripples as one feels the second half will be a complete action packed and surrender reddy did his best to elevate but NTR’s reasons in killing gangs will be revealed immediately after the interval. Here starts problems for Director as NTR (Tony) character wont be available on screen for 10 min, even comedy track goes down bit.

For Jr. NTR fans second half will be a bit disappointing but if you really take Tony’s character into mind – The characterization speaks everything.

Bottom-line: Oosaravelli is an Action Entertainer – everyone can watch for once. Don’t expect a brand NTR film!
